Websites for airport parking

Airport parking websites that answer “how much, how far, how safe” — and take the booking.

Travelers compare three or four car parks at once, usually on a phone, often the night before a flight. The site that shows a real total price, the transfer time and proof of security first gets the booking; the others send customers back to a comparison site that charges you commission. We design airport parking websites for park & ride, meet & greet and shuttle operators in the UK, US, Ireland, Canada and Australia — around the booking platform you already use, or a booking system we build for you.

The short answer

What is airport parking website design?

It is designing and building the website an airport parking operator sells from: the page where a traveler enters dates, sees a price, chooses park & ride or meet & greet, pays and gets clear instructions for the day. A good one names the airport, shows the total cost up front, states the transfer time, proves the car park is secure and makes cancellation terms easy to find.

Most operators already have a booking engine. When we reviewed 32 independent operator sites, the engine usually worked. The page around it was the problem: no price before searching, no review score, no transfer time and no proof of security. That selling page is what we design — and if you have no online booking at all, we connect a booking platform or build one.

What travelers check

What do travelers look for before booking airport parking?

Six questions decide most bookings. A site that answers them in the first two screens wins; one that hides them behind a search box loses the customer to the next tab.
How much, in total?A “from” price before searching, then a total with every tax, fee and extra shown — no surprises at checkout.
How far from the terminal?Transfer time, shuttle frequency and hours, or the exact meet & greet spot at each terminal.
Is my car safe?Fencing, CCTV, staffed hours, insurance, accreditation and real photos of the compound — not stock images.
What if my flight changes? What happens if you land late or early, and how to amend or cancel — in plain words, next to the price.
Do other people trust you?A review score with its count and source, plus recent, dated reviews.
Where do I go?Postcode or address for the satnav, the entrance, and a one-screen return guide for when you land.
Booking

Which booking setup suits your car park?

There are three common setups. We work with all of them, and we can move you from one to another without losing your search rankings.
SetupWhat it meansWhen it fits
Your existing booking platformYou keep the parking platform you already use for availability, pricing and payments. We design the site around it and embed or link its booking flow where the platform allows. You already have a platform that works, and the site around it is the weak part.
A booking system built for youDates, live availability, products, extras, payment, confirmations and a manage-booking area, built to your rules. See custom web apps. You have unusual products, several sites or airports, or you want to stop paying per-booking platform fees.
Enquiry or phone onlyA form or a phone number, with bookings confirmed by hand.Rarely the right long-term answer: travelers expect to book and pay in one visit. A short-term step while a booking system is set up.
Service websites are live in 7 days, guaranteed. Booking-system builds are scoped and quoted after a short call, because they depend on your products, payments and existing systems.
Prices

How should an airport parking website show prices?

Show a real starting price before the search and a full total after it. In our review, only 7 of 32 operator homepages showed any price at all; the clearest one listed the daily rate next to every tax and fee line by line. A traveler comparing car parks wants the number they will actually pay — and a site that hides it until the last step looks like it has something to hide.

If your prices move with dates and demand, say so in one line and show which dates are cheaper rather than letting the price jump without explanation. Check the rules where you trade. In the UK, the CMA’s price transparency guidance covers how mandatory fees, taxes and charges should appear in prices, and treats drip pricing — adding charges as the customer goes through checkout — as a problem. In the US, the FTC’s rule on unfair or deceptive fees covers live-event tickets and short-term lodging; parking on its own is not named, but a park-sleep-fly package with a hotel night may be, so ask your adviser. This is a summary to help you brief us, not legal advice.

Trust

How does an airport parking website prove the car park is secure?

“Safe and secure” appears on almost every operator site, so on its own it proves nothing. Specific, checkable proof does.
ProofHow we show it
Safer Parking (Park Mark), UKThe police-supported Safer Parking Scheme is awarded after a police risk assessment, and anyone can check a car park on the Find Safer Parking search. If you hold the award, we show it beside the price and link to that search. If you do not, we leave it off — never a lookalike badge.
Airport approvalSome airports run approved-operator schemes for off-airport parking and meet & greet. If yours does and you are approved, we say so and link to the airport’s own page.
ReviewsAn aggregate score with its count and source — Google, Trustpilot or similar — beside the search, and recent dated reviews further down. Only 3 of the 32 sites we reviewed showed a score.
The compound itselfReal photos of the fencing, gates, cameras, staffed cabin, shuttle buses and drivers, with a line on each. Stock photos of luggage and beaches tell a traveler nothing.
Insurance and vettingWhat your insurance covers while the car is with you, and how meet & greet drivers are checked — stated plainly, matching your terms.
Company detailsRegistered company name, number and address in the footer, so travelers can see who they are paying.

Transfers

What transfer and shuttle information should the site include?

Enough that a first-time customer never has to phone you. For park & ride and shuttle lots, that means the journey time to each terminal, how often the shuttle runs and during which hours, and exactly where it picks up at each terminal on the way back — door, island or bay number, and how to call or text for pickup. Nine of the shuttle operators we reviewed did not state a transfer time at all, which is the first thing a traveler compares.

For meet & greet, it means the meeting point at each terminal, when to call the driver, what happens to the keys, how the car is checked at handover and how the return works if the flight is late. We put this on one “Your trip” page per terminal, link it from the confirmation email, and design a one-screen “I’ve landed” guide for the phone.

Terms

Where should cancellation and flight-delay terms go?

Next to the price, in plain words, with the full terms one click away. Travelers book weeks ahead and plans change, so cancellation, amendments, early or late returns and what happens when a flight is delayed are part of the buying decision — not small print. A clear “free cancellation up to X hours before” or an honest “non-refundable, cheaper” choice at the point of booking converts better than terms a customer only finds after paying.

We write these sections from your actual terms, show any non-refundable option as a clear choice rather than a surprise, and keep the wording identical on the booking page, the confirmation email and the terms page so there is no conflict when a customer complains.

Direct bookings

Should an airport parking operator rely on comparison sites?

Comparison and booking sites bring volume, and most operators use them. The question is how much of your business depends on them — each booking they send costs the commission in your contract, and the customer belongs to them.
Direct booking on your own site
  • You keep the full price, minus payment fees
  • You own the customer and can email them next trip
  • Your reviews, your brand, your terms
  • Repeat travelers can come straight back
  • Needs a site that converts and gets found
Bookings through comparison sites
  • Commission on every booking
  • Their brand and their reviews in front of yours
  • Customer details shared on their terms
  • Repeat customers often rebook through them
  • Useful for volume and quiet periods
Getting found

How does a car park show up on Google Maps and in local search?

Through a Google Business Profile set up the way Google’s guidelines require, and a website that names the airport clearly. A park & ride or shuttle lot that customers drive to has a real address to show, a primary category and accurate opening hours. A meet & greet service where customers never visit your premises is different: Google asks businesses that serve customers away from their address to hide it and list service areas instead. Never use the airport terminal as your address, and never add “Gatwick Airport Parking” or similar to your business name unless it is your real trading name — both risk suspension.

On the site, we give each airport and each service its own page, add ParkingFacility structured data with your address, hours and contact details, and keep those details identical to your Google profile. We also build a routine for asking customers for reviews after they collect their car — when they are most likely to leave one. Rankings are never guaranteed; see local SEO for how we approach it.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

How much does an airport parking website cost?
It depends on the number of airports and services, and on whether we design around your existing booking platform or build a booking system. We give you a fixed quote after a short call, so you know exactly what is included before you commit.
Can you keep our current booking platform?
Usually, yes. If your platform handles availability, pricing and payments well, we design the site around it and embed or link its booking flow where the platform allows. We check what your platform supports before we quote.
Can you build an airport parking booking system from scratch?
Yes — dates and live availability, products such as park & ride, meet & greet and extras, online payment, confirmation emails and a manage-booking area. Because every operator’s products and rules differ, booking systems are scoped and quoted rather than covered by the 7-day guarantee. See custom web apps.
Should we show prices on the homepage?
Yes. A “from” price before searching and a full total after it are what travelers compare. If your prices change with demand, we explain that in one line and show which dates are cheaper.
Can the site show our Park Mark award?
Yes, if you hold it. We show the Safer Parking (Park Mark) award next to the price and link to the official Find Safer Parking search so travelers can check it themselves. If you do not hold it, we leave it off.
Will a new website reduce what we pay comparison sites?
It can help you win more direct bookings — a site that shows prices, proof and clear terms gives travelers a reason to book with you. How much shifts depends on your market and how people find you, so we report direct bookings from your own data rather than promise a number.
Can you improve our current site instead of starting again?
Yes. We can redesign it while keeping the search rankings it has earned — see website redesign.
