Odoo ERP

Odoo development services and custom modules.

Standard Odoo covers most of what a business needs. For the rest, our engineers build custom modules, reports and integrations — kept small, documented and written to survive upgrades. And because we host and support Odoo too, we never leave code behind that nobody owns.
Our rules for custom code
  • Standard firstCustomize only where Odoo can’t
  • Upgrade-readyBuilt to move to new versions
  • DocumentedYou get the code and the notes
  • Version-controlledEvery change tracked
Before we write code

When should you customize Odoo, and when shouldn’t you?

Customize when the requirement gives your business a real advantage or a legal necessity that standard Odoo cannot meet. Don’t customize to make Odoo look like the old system. Every custom module has to be tested, maintained and ported at each upgrade, so it should earn its place.

Before quoting any custom work, we check three cheaper options first:

  • Configuration. Odoo has far more settings than most people realize — routes, approvals, pricelists, automation rules.
  • A small process change. Adjusting how a team works is often simpler than changing the software.
  • An existing module. A well-maintained module from the Odoo Community Association or the Odoo Apps store may already do the job.

If none of those fit, we build it properly. We also tell you what a custom module will cost to keep, not just to build — because the porting work at each upgrade is part of the real price of any customization, and it should be part of the decision.

What we build

What kind of Odoo development do we do?

Anything that extends Odoo cleanly: new features, better documents, fewer manual steps and connections to the systems around it. Each piece is scoped in writing before we build it.
Custom modulesNew features and workflows your industry needs.
Reports & documentsInvoices, delivery notes and management reports laid out your way.
AutomationsApprovals, reminders and scheduled actions that remove manual steps.
IntegrationsConnections to stores, payment providers, couriers and other systems.Learn more →
DashboardsThe numbers each role needs, on one screen.
PortalsCustomer or supplier portals for orders, invoices and tickets.
Two ways to customize

Odoo Studio or a custom module?

Both have a place. We often use Studio for simple changes and code for anything with real logic.
Odoo Studio (Enterprise)
  • Quick fields, views and simple reports
  • Changes made by an admin in the browser
  • Stored in the database, harder to review
  • Best for small, low-risk tweaks
Custom module (code)
  • Any logic, integration or workflow
  • Kept in Git with full change history
  • Reviewed and tested before release
  • Ported deliberately at each upgrade
How we build

How does a custom Odoo module get built?

01Written specWhat it does, who uses it, and how we will test it — agreed with you.
02Build on a copyDeveloped on a staging copy of your system, never on live.
03Review & testCode reviewed, automated tests where there is logic, then your team tests it.
04ReleaseDeployed in a planned release, with notes on what changed.
What you receive

What comes with every module we build?

DeliverableWhy it matters
Source code in your repositoryYou own it, and any developer can pick it up later
Standard Odoo left untouchedChanges are made by extending Odoo, never by editing its core files
Short technical notesWhat the module does and how it fits, for whoever maintains it next
Tests for business logicProblems show up before release, and again at upgrade time
A tested release on stagingYou approve it on a copy before it reaches your live system
Upgrade notesWhat to check and change when the module moves to the next Odoo version
FAQ

Questions we get asked

Do we own the custom code?
Yes. You receive the source code and documentation for everything we build for you.
Will customizations break when Odoo is upgraded?
Any custom code needs porting at upgrade time. We keep it minimal and well structured, and build by extending Odoo rather than editing it, so that porting is quick and predictable.
Can you change how standard Odoo behaves?
Yes, by extending it. Odoo is built so that modules can add fields, change views and adjust logic without touching the original code, which keeps upgrades manageable.
Can you fix modules another developer wrote?
Yes. We review them first and tell you whether fixing or replacing is the better option.
How do you estimate custom work?
From a written specification. We agree what the module must do and how it will be tested, then give you a quote for that scope before any code is written.
Do you work on Odoo.sh projects?
Yes. Odoo.sh is built around Git branches, which fits how we work. We can also move the project to a private server if you prefer.
Can you connect Odoo to our own in-house software?
Usually, yes — through Odoo’s external API or a small custom module. See Odoo integration services.
What technology are Odoo modules built with?
Odoo modules are written in Python, with screens and reports defined in XML and data stored in PostgreSQL. Interactive parts of the interface use Odoo’s own JavaScript framework, OWL. Our engineers work across all of these, so a module is built in the same way as Odoo’s own code.
