Hosting & servers

Managed web hosting for WordPress and WooCommerce.

Web hosting is where your website lives: the server that stores its files and database and sends a page to every visitor. Ours runs on LiteSpeed servers we manage ourselves, with every site kept in its own isolated container, malware scanning and a web firewall, live kernel patching and automatic off-site backups. We look after the server, the security and the backups, so you can get on with your business.

The short answer

What is managed WordPress hosting?

Managed WordPress hosting is hosting where the provider runs the server for you and takes responsibility for keeping it fast, secure and backed up. With ordinary hosting you rent space and everything else is your problem: server settings, security, backups and what to do when the site goes down. With managed hosting, a team that knows the server is watching it.

For us that means the web server, PHP, caching, the firewall, malware scanning, kernel patches and backups are all handled by our engineers. If you also want the website itself looked after — WordPress, plugin and theme updates, testing and small changes — that is what our website care plans add on top.

What does every site get?

SpeedLiteSpeed web servers built for speed, server-level caching and the latest PHP version.
IsolationEach site runs in its own container with its own memory and CPU limits, so a neighbour can’t slow it down.
Malware protectionContinuous malware scanning, a web application firewall and automatic blocking of known attacks.
Live patchingServer kernel security updates applied live, without a reboot or downtime.
BackupsAutomatic backups stored off-site, in a separate location from the server, and restore-tested.
Free CloudflareWe add your site to our Cloudflare account at no charge, for a global CDN and an extra security layer.
Isolation

Why does it matter that each site has its own container?

On many shared servers, sites sit side by side with no real walls between them. One busy site can slow everyone down, and one hacked site can be used to reach the others. We keep every site in its own isolated container with its own resource limits, so a traffic spike or a compromised neighbour stays contained.
  • Your site’s memory and CPU are not taken by other sites
  • A problem on another account can’t spread to yours
  • Each site has its own file system view and limits
  • Security tools scan and protect every account individually
How a site is protected
  • CloudflareCDN and filtering in front
  • Web firewallAttacks blocked at the server
  • ContainerSite isolated from others
  • BackupsOff-site copy if all else fails

Website care plans for WordPress, WooCommerce and Shopify

Websites need looking after: updates, backups, security checks and the small changes every business needs. Our care plans cover all of it every month, done by the team that hosts the site — so problems are spotted and fixed before your customers notice. Plans cover WordPress and WooCommerce sites on our servers, and Shopify stores on your own Shopify account.

What’s included

What does a website care plan include?

The routine work that keeps a site safe, fast and up to date — plus a set amount of time each month for the changes your business needs.
WordPress maintenanceUpdates applied carefully, customizations preserved.
WooCommerce maintenanceCheckout, payments and emails checked after updates.
Shopify maintenanceTheme updates, apps reviewed, new pages and campaigns.
Uptime & securityAlerts if the site goes down or something looks wrong.
Speed checksRegular checks so pages stay fast.
Monthly reportWhat we did and what we recommend.
Why it matters

Why does a website need ongoing maintenance?

Because the software under every website keeps changing. WordPress, its plugins and themes release updates regularly, many of them security fixes. Leave them for a few months and the site becomes easier to attack; apply them carelessly and a form, a payment method or a page layout can quietly break. Both are common causes of broken or hacked websites.

A care plan takes both risks off your hands. Updates are applied on a regular schedule by people who know how your site was built, the important parts of the site are checked afterwards, and a recent off-site backup is always there if anything needs rolling back. The small changes — a new team member, a price change, a seasonal banner — get done without you needing to find a developer each time.

By platform

How does care differ for WordPress, WooCommerce and Shopify?

Each platform needs different attention. Your plan is set up for the one your site runs on.

Hosting vs care

What is the difference between hosting and a care plan?

They are often confused, and they do different jobs. On our servers, the two are designed to work together.
Hosting looks after the server
  • LiteSpeed web servers and caching
  • Each site isolated in its own container
  • Malware scanning, a web firewall and live kernel patching
  • Off-site backups and free Cloudflare on our account
A care plan looks after the website
  • WordPress, plugin and theme updates, applied carefully
  • Checks on forms, checkout and key pages after updates
  • Uptime and security alerts acted on
  • Small content and design changes each month
Your report

How will you know what was done?

Every month you get a short, plain-language report: what we updated, anything we spotted and fixed, the changes we made for you, and what we recommend next. If something needs a decision from you — an outdated plugin worth replacing, a page that has become slow — it is in the report with our suggestion.
  • Updates applied and anything held back, with the reason
  • Security and uptime events
  • Changes made at your request
  • Recommendations for the coming month
In every report

FAQ

Questions we get asked

What is managed hosting?
Hosting where the provider looks after the server and the website’s technical upkeep — updates, security and backups — instead of leaving it to you.
Can you move our website from another host?
Yes. We copy it to our servers, test it as a staging copy, then switch over at a quiet time with minimal downtime. You don’t need to do anything technical.
Is a VPS better than web hosting?
A VPS gives you your own dedicated resources, which suits busy stores and business systems. Most business websites run very well on our managed web hosting, and we can move you to a VPS later if you outgrow it.
Where are your servers?
We choose the location for your audience and confirm it in your proposal.
Is Cloudflare really free?
Yes. We add your site to our Cloudflare account at no charge. If you already have your own Cloudflare account, we can work with that instead. Paid Cloudflare extras, if your site needs them, are agreed with you first.
What happens if a site gets malware?
Malware scanning runs on every account and cleans many infections automatically, and the web firewall blocks known attacks before they reach your site. If a site still needs repair, we can restore a clean backup and close the hole that let it in.
Will our site be slowed down by other customers?
No. Every site runs in its own container with its own CPU and memory limits, so a busy or misbehaving site on the same server can’t take your resources.
Can you host a website you didn’t build?
Yes. We review it first so we know what we are taking on, and we tell you honestly if anything needs fixing before or after the move.
Do we need a care plan if you host the site?
Hosting keeps the server healthy; a care plan looks after the website itself — updates, testing and changes. Most sites need both.
Can you look after a site hosted elsewhere?
Yes, though some checks are deeper when we host it.
