Software license compliance

A software licence audit that tells you exactly what to buy — and fixes it without a reinstall.

Offices often run Windows and Office copies that came with a second-hand PC, were “activated” by a previous helper, or were never activated at all. We check every computer remotely, give you a plain list of what is genuine and what is not, and install the genuine licences on the existing setup — apps, files and settings untouched.
What you get

  • No reinstallApps and files untouched
The short answer

What is a software licence audit?

A software licence audit checks every computer to see which programs are properly licensed, which are unlicensed, and what you need to buy to be compliant. For most small offices that means Windows and Microsoft Office first, then paid apps such as design or accounting software.

In our own office the audit found several Windows and Office copies that were not genuine or never activated — not through bad intent, but because PCs had been set up by different people over the years. That is the most common story, and it is easy to put right once you can see it.

What we check

What does the audit look at on each PC?

CheckWhat it tells you
Windows activation statusWhether Windows is activated, and how — a genuine retail or business licence, or an unofficial activator.
Windows edition and versionHome or Pro, and whether the PC can move to the current Windows version.
Microsoft OfficeWhich Office version is installed and whether it is genuinely licensed or a cracked copy.
Unofficial activatorsTools that fake activation — these often carry malware and switch off security features.
Other paid softwarePrograms that need a licence, listed for you to confirm.
Why it matters

Why replace cracked Windows and Office?

Cracked or unactivated copies
  • Activators often bundle malware or switch off Defender
  • Updates can be blocked or fail
  • Legal and audit risk for the business
  • Support and upgrades become unpredictable
Genuine licences
  • Security updates arrive normally
  • Defender and other protections stay on
  • Clean answer if a supplier or auditor asks
  • Upgrades and support work as expected

04InstallWe install and activate the genuine keys on the existing Windows — apps, files and settings stay as they are.
05Clean upUnofficial activators removed only with your OK, then a full security scan.
FAQ

Questions we get asked

Do we have to reinstall Windows to fix licensing?
No. In most cases a genuine key can be installed on the existing Windows, keeping apps, files and settings. A reinstall is only discussed if a PC is badly infected.
Do you sell the licences?
No. You buy them from a reseller you choose, so you own them outright. We tell you exactly which editions and how many.
Will you remove the cracked software straight away?
Only with your OK. We report first, then remove unofficial activators and run a security scan once genuine licences are in place.
Is this the same as a vendor licence audit?
No. This is your own internal check, so you know where you stand and can fix it on your terms.
Can you audit Macs too?
Yes — we list installed paid apps on Macs so you can confirm their licences.
How is it priced?
A monthly plan per office or per computer, quoted after a short audit. Ask for a quote and tell us how many PCs, Macs and sites you have.
