Start where the big pieces live. Hold the phone at chest height and turn slowly; we count as you go.

Will the sofa leave the way it came in? We check door widths and the hall turn.
Wall-mounted TV: who takes it down, and do you keep the bracket?
Anything fragile or valuable to list separately for cover.

Open a few cupboards. Kitchens hide more boxes than any other room.

Is the washing machine drum bolted for transport? We bring bolts if not.
American fridge-freezer: height, door hinges and defrost time.

We go through all three. Point out anything that stays behind so we don't count it.

Beds and wardrobes that need taking apart, and rebuilding at the other end.
Stairs: width, the landing turn and the banister.

Questions

Before you book.

Is a video survey as accurate as a visit?

For most homes up to four bedrooms, yes. The surveyor sees every room and asks about anything hidden. If something is unclear, we offer a visit at no cost (sample).

Can the price change after the quote?

Only if the job changes: extra items, a different address, a new date or access we were not told about. We tell you before the move, never on the day.

How does insurance cover work?

Goods-in-transit cover protects your belongings while we carry them. Items are covered up to a set amount each unless you list them; your quote shows the limits and the cost of extra cover (sample).

Can I cancel?

Yes. If you accept a quote made in your home you have 14 days to cancel. After that, our terms show any charges, which rise closer to the date.
