Three ways out

Pick the water, we’ll pick the line

Every sail is private: your group, our skipper, the whole boat. Routes bend to the wind on the day, and the skipper tells you the plan on the pontoon before you step aboard.

The weather call, in plain words

You never make the call. We do.

West-coast weather changes fast. Rather than leave you guessing, we watch it for you and tell you straight, early enough to rearrange your day.

48h

We start watching

Two days out the skipper checks the inshore forecast for your sailing window and plans a route for the expected wind.

6pm

A heads-up text

The evening before, you get a short text: on, or "looking marginal, we'll confirm by 8am". No need to reply.

8am

The call

If the forecast is above Force 6 for your window, or it is unsafe for any other reason, we ring by 8am. Free move to any open date this season, or a full refund.

If we cancel

Weather, a fault on the boat or illness in the crew: you choose a new date or a full refund, deposit included, paid back within 5 working days.

If you cancel

More than 14 days before: full refund. Within 14 days we keep the 25% deposit, unless we re-book the date, when we refund that too.

What to bring

Questions

Asked on the pontoon

What if I get seasick?

Tell the skipper early. We'll head for flatter water behind Kerrera, and if you'd rather be ashore we'll take you back. Sea-sickness bands and ginger biscuits live in the chart table.

Is Force 6 the only reason you’d cancel?

No. Fog, a big swell running into the Firth or a fault on the boat can all stop us. Whatever the reason, if we call it, you get the free move or the full refund.

Can we bring food and drink?

Yes. Bring a picnic and a bottle; there is a cool box aboard. The full day includes lunch from a local deli, with dietary needs sorted when you book.

Can we book for a scattering of ashes?

We can. Morag will help you choose a quiet spot and time, and the boat is yours for as long as you need. Call us to talk it through.

Ask for a date

Hold your day on the water
